How exactly, does resin drying work with compressed air?

  1. Moist surrounding air at room temperature is sucked into the compressor.
  2. The air is compressed to 8 bar or more, causing it to exude water.
  3. The compressed air is led through an air chiller. Through this temperature reduction more moisture is exuded by means of condensation.
  4. The compressed air returns to room temperature in the reservoir and compressed air pipes and is decompressed in the dryer. We now have an atmospheric dew point of about -25°C. This is absolutely sufficient to dry any type of resin.

  1. Moist resin is filled into the dryer. The moisture sits on the surface of the material as well as in the capillaries and core of the resin.
  2. Properly tempered compressed air surrounds the material and heats it up, raising the internal pressure to push the moisture to the surface from the core through the capillaries. The water at the surface of the granulate is thereby constantly dried.
  3. The resin is now completely dried and heated to the set drying temperature through and through. It is ready to be processed.
